He suffocated in the most popular role
The British actor gave an interview to the online magazine “Bustle”, in which he recalled his time at Hogwarts. In his opinion, many years of work on the set of the same series and related duties, including the promotional issues were exhausting, and as a young actor he felt “suffocated”.
I experienced the difficulty of being noticed, but also being overshadowed. “Potter” kept us fully occupied – we filmed all year and the rest of the time we were involved in promotion. It was quite “suffocating”.
Grant admitted. The first part of the series about the famous wizard was released in 2001, when the actor was 13 years old (only 11 at the castings), and the last one – in 2011. He ended his adventure with “Potter” as an adult, and the shooting period fell on the carefree years of childhood . The character he played – Ron Weasley – had a significant impact on the formation of his personality.
In the movies, we merged into one. I was playing myself at the end. The lines were blurring… I react when someone calls me Ron. It’s my middle name.
Grint said in an interview.
Ultimately, she feels grateful
Although it was his participation in “Harry Potter” that gave him recognition and numerous offers, he admitted that at the age of 22 he felt overwhelmed enough to consider taking a break from acting.

I wanted a break to think about everything. It was an out-of-body experience for a while, but I think we ended at the right time. If we had continued, it could have ended badly.
– summarized the period of making both parts of the film “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows”. He also had a crisis during the recording of “Goblet of Fire” in 2005, when he suffered from intense tonsillitis, but could not take treatment due to his busy schedule.
When I was recording, there was never time to cut them. From “Goblet” to the end of the series, I was just sick. My tonsils were absolutely huge. As soon as I finished my work, I had them removed. It was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.
– added the actor, claiming that dealing with the disease was metaphorical for him in a way. He also found balance thanks to fatherhood. Ultimately, however, he is grateful for the experience gained from playing Weasley. “It’s always nice to look back,” he said in the 20th anniversary documentary Return to Hogwarts.
The actor’s conversation with the magazine was primarily aimed at promoting the new thriller by M. Night Shyamalan, the author of m.in. “Split” and “The Sixth Sense”. Rupert Grint starred in the apocalyptic psychological production “Knocking on the Door” based on the novel by Paul G, playing the role of Redmond.
