How much does a bath in the tub cost? Many factors affect the price
The price depends on many factors. Calculations will vary depending on:
- Prices per cubic meter of water and wastewater disposal, which varies from municipality to municipality;
- The cost of heating water;
- The size of the bathtub in which we take a bath.
The author of the website made the appropriate calculations based on a bathtub measuring 140×70 cm, which holds about 150 liters of water and the costs that apply in his place of residence. He took into account that it is rare that we fill the water full. Most often we do it to about half of its depth. The man also added the cost of the liquid necessary to rinse the body from the foam or shampoo, and divided it into hot and cold. To calculate the cost of a one-time shower, it is worth checking the flow of water through the handset first. On average, it is 7 liters per minute. If you shower for 8 minutes using the same amount of hot and cold liquid, the total cost will be about PLN 1.12. The price will increase if the activity lasts longer. It turns out that taking a shower for 15 minutes will be almost the same as taking a bath in the bathtub.
Bathtub and shower. What is more profitable and how much can you save?
Assuming that we take a shower every day, it will cost us about PLN 408 for a year. In the case of washing in a bathtub, the price we will have to pay will be more than twice as high, because it will amount to about PLN 850. The difference will be even more noticeable depending on how many people our household has. In the case of a family of four, the savings can be as much as PLN 1,800 per year.
