The Vitoria-Gasteiz Basque Film Week will celebrate its 39th edition between Monday, February 20, and Saturday, the 25th, at Vital Fundazioa Kulturunea (La Paz 5, 1st floor of Dendaraba, Vitoria-Gasteiz) with six feature films and five shorts, every day from 7:30 p.m. Subscriptions (€15) and tickets (€4) are available from today.
You can see films recently awarded at the Goya awards such as “Cinco lobitos” or “La cosagracación de la primavera”, “Irati”, which will hit theaters with great expectation on February 24, “Suro”, the short film “Tula” , which stayed at the gates of the Oscars.
On Monday, February 20, the horror short ‘N-666’, by Imanol Ortiz, and the intense and extremely interesting ‘Suro’, by Mikel Gurea will be screened; on Tuesday the 21st, it will be the turn of ‘The days that (never) were’ and ‘The Rite of Spring’, for which Telmo Irureta received the Goya Award for Best New Actor on Saturday.
Three prizes were won at the same gala by ‘Cinco Lobitos’, by Alauda Ruiz de Azua, which can be seen on Wednesday together with the short film ‘Txotxongiloa’, directed by Sonia Estévez.
The event on Thursday the 23rd will begin with the short ‘Erroak’ (Sergio Azkarate), which will be followed by ‘Gelditasuna Ekaitzean’, and on Friday they will be able to see “Tula”, a short film by Beatriz de Silva, nominated for the Oscars, and “El Vasco”, by Jabi Elortegi.
It will put an end to the “Irati” Film Week, the second feature film by Paul Urkijo from Gasteiz, which opens in theaters the day before.
