COAC 2023: order of performance of the last session of the quarterfinals of the Carnival of Cádiz

This Saturday, February 11, the setting for the Gran Falla de Cádiz hosts what will be the last COAC quarterfinal session. But the Official Contest of Carnival Groups still has a long way to go. After tonight the names of the chirigotas, comparsas, choirs and quartets that will go to the semifinal, which begins next week, will be known. But until then… keep enjoying the Carnival.

COAC 2023: performance order for Saturday, February 11

  • The blacks (chorus)
  • Here I am missing (chirigota)
  • The colaores, a troupe of a lifetime (comparsa)
  • Taliban Front of the Irreverent Republic of Kadikistan (chirigota)
  • The trampucheros (comparsa)
  • Queen of the South (Chorus)
  • The chiefs of Cádiz (chirigota)
  • The legs, a comparsa from outside (comparsa)

The group that opens the day on Saturday is the Choir by David Fernández and José Manuel Pedrosa, which in this edition are presented as Los Negros. The next to take the stage will be the chirigota by Juanlu Cascana, which in recent editions has managed to reap much more success than before. Accustomed to staying in the preliminaries or reaching the quarterfinals a few times, in 2022, like The main quarantines they took the fourth prize.

The first troupe to show their repertoire will be The colaores, a lifelong comparsa, by Vera Luque, who last year chose to perform in the comparsa modality. She continues the second joke of the night, Taliban Front of the Irreverent Republic of Kadikistan, before giving way to the comparsa the tricksters.

On a night without quartets (they are the fewest in the COAC), the La Reina del Sur choir follows and does so led by Antonio Procopio, even after announcing his withdrawal. The penultimate shift, already late at night, is for Los Jefes de Cádiz, and it is not that they are the kings of COAC, but that is the name of the chirigota by David Verde and Miguel Llul for this year, after having reached the semifinal phase last year. The last group to sing their repertoire is José Manuel Cardoso’s comparsa, Los catetos, a comparsa from abroad, which comes precisely from Chiclana de la Frontera.
