PLN 500 fine for cyclists. What to do to not receive it?

Bicycle equipment is designed to ensure the safety of both us and other road users. Failure to prepare the vehicle before taking it to the roads may result in a fine from PLN 20 to even PLN 500, which can significantly affect the household budget. The regulations in force in our country clearly define what should be paid attention to. Every bicycle on streets and bicycle paths should be equipped with:

  • sonic with unshrill sound;
  • at least one functioning brake;
  • at least one position lamp (white or selective yellow) in front;
  • at least one red non-triangular rear reflector;
  • at least one red position light.

Moving on roads only during the day and in favorable weather conditions does not require the use of additional position lighting. This is only required at night. A person who does not comply with the regulations should be aware of the danger that he or she may pose on the road, and also take into account the possibility of receiving a ticket.

Cycling safely. Should you wear a helmet?

cars are equipped with airbags, and motorcyclists with a helmet and protective clothing. It turns out that the regulations do not impose an obligation on the cyclist to wear a helmet while riding, but putting it on is a good practice that affects safety. Falling over and hitting your head without additional head protection can cause serious injuries that can easily be avoided. Just wear a helmet.
