“Today I am pleased to announce that we have sequels in the works from our animation studios to some of our most popular franchises, Toy Story, Frozen and Zootopia. We will have more to share about these productions soon, but this is a great example of how we are building on our unrivaled brands and franchises,” Iger said during the first quarter earnings call.
With the announcement it becomes official that they will soon reach movie theaters: a fifth of toy storya third installment of Frozen and a sequel to zootopia.
The new releases seek to ensure that the company he runs continues to dominate the big and small screen. Furthermore, they arrive after it was announced that seven thousand jobs would be cut in the company with the intention of reducing costs.
