The “Stranger Things” star had panic attacks while working on the set

Many young actors, thanks to their participation in Netflix productions, very quickly gain great international fame. It was no different in the case of the series “Stranger Things”, which is one of the most watched titles on this platform. Finn Wolfhand is one of the actors who gained a lot of recognition thanks to this series. Recently, he admitted that the sudden increase in popularity also has a dark side, which he found out the hard way.

Finn Wolfhand first says he had panic attacks

The young actor in an interview with GQ magazine confessed that a few years ago he began to suffer from anxiety and had regular panic attacks. He also mentioned that he had never talked about his problems before because “there was no time for it”. He started having regular panic attacks between the ages of 15 and 16:

My career was going crazy, so there was no time for that, or at least it didn’t seem like it at the time. Everyone was like, ‘Look at him, he’s fine. He’s having a great time.” But in reality I was probably also growing and my brain was changing and fears were forming and things were happening that I wasn’t aware of, I had to bury them because of how I must have felt at work

Today, Finn Wolfhard is 20 years old and has admitted that he still suffers from panic attacks sometimes. The last one survived quite recently, on the set of the movie “When You Finish Saving the World”, which premiered in the United States in January. “I was very tense and nervous because I thought: this is the first movie [który robię – przyp. red.] as an adult,” said Wolfhard.

Jesse Eisenberg, director and writer of When You Finish Saving the World, gave him a lot of encouragement at the time. Eisenberg also started acting as a young boy and told the “Stranger Things” star the story of his own panic attack while filming “Adventure Land”. Wolfhard also confessed that he tries to lead a relatively normal life. He lives with friends in a rented house in Los Angeles, and previously managed to return to a “normal” high school in Vancouver.
