The scandal that broke out in January 2021 cost him his image, career and marriage. One of the messages Hammer allegedly wrote to a woman named Effie read: “I’m going to be so rude and filthy when we finally see each other. There are so many possibilities. I need to drink your blood. Why are we so far apart? I’m a 100% cannibal. I want eat you.” There were also accusations of brutal rape.

In the latest interview, Hammer confessed that in February 2021, while staying in the Cayman Islands, he wanted to commit suicide:

I just walked into the ocean and swam as far as I could, hoping to either drown, get hit by a boat, or be eaten by a shark. At some point, I understood that my children were on the shore, that I could not do this to them.

The actor explains his interest in BDSM practices by the fact that he was molested by a young pastor when he was 13 years old. I was powerless then. I had nothing to say. Sexuality came into my life in a terrible way that I had no control over. That’s why I started thinking: I want to be in control in moments like this – actor.

Hammer, known for such films as “Those Days, Those Nights”, “The Social Network” and “Rebecca”, has two children with his ex-wife Elizabeth Chambers. She did not appear in the documentary about her husband, which premiered last year. The creators of “House of Hammer” announced: “Debauchery. Fraud. Abuse. Addiction. Corruption. Five generations of men in the Hammer family have more secrets and scandals on their account than any treasury can hold. The alleged crimes of Armie Hammer are just the tip of the iceberg.” Chambers admitted in an interview that she watched the production:

One day I drove the kids to school, came home and watched a movie, with the support of my loved ones. It was obviously unbearable on many levels, but it was true at the same time.

– The past is the past and all we can do now is take it as an opportunity to learn and listen and a chance to heal in every possible way. However, it is possible that we will recover over the years,’ said Elizabeth Chambers.
