The book “Basilisco” by Jon Bilbao, in the Spanish mode, and “Wind Spots” by Amaia Telleria, in Basque, it has been awarded the Euskadi de Plata prizes awarded by the Gipuzkoa Booksellers Guild on the occasion of Libraries Day.
This award seeks to rescue and highlight two works written the previous year “that did not receive the recognition they deserved at the time, especially those published by independent publishers.”
“Haize-lekuak” (Alberdania) collects the experiences of the war and the postwar period that Amaia Telleria’s grandmother recounted (Idiazabal, 1993), which provide the novel with a “personal and exciting vision”, points out the Booksellers Guild.
The awards, which will be delivered in an act on December 2, are awarded in the context of the Literaktum festival that is held these days in the capital of Gipuzkoa, with which the bookseller’s guild collaborates.
