Also parents who brought up at least four children and have reached the retirement age can count on a supplementary benefit. In 2019, the “Mama 4+” program was introduced, thanks to which, after meeting a number of conditions, you can receive up to PLN 1,338.44 gross monthly and for life. It turns out that the amount is subject to annual indexation, so from March 1, 2023 it will be even higher.
Supplementary benefit “Mama 4+”. Who can get them?
The “Mama 4+” supplementary benefit may be used by persons who meet strictly defined conditions:
- have given birth to and raised or only raised at least four children;
- they are not awarded or they receive a benefit lower than the currently valid minimum old-age pension (then compensation will be granted to the amount of the lowest old-age pension);
- have resided permanently in Poland for at least 10 years and have the so-called center of vital interests;
- have Polish citizenship or citizenship of a Member State of the European Union or a Member State of the European Free Trade Association (EFTA);
- have been granted the right of residence in Poland or the right of permanent residence in Poland, and in the case of foreigners, legalized stay.

How much will the benefit after indexation be? From March, the amount may be higher
As already mentioned, the “Mama 4+” supplementary benefit compensates for the amount of the currently applicable minimum old-age pension. Today it is PLN 1,338.44 gross, but on March 1, due to the annual indexation, it will increase. Taking into account the government’s plan to introduce quota and percentage increases, the amount from next month will be even PLN 1,588.44 gross.
A benefit under the program may be claimed by a mother who has given birth to or brought up at least 4 children and has reached the age of 60, or a father who has reached the age of 65 and raised at least 4 children because the mother died, abandoned them or did not undertake to raise them. This is real support for parents who, due to the need to take personal care of their children, could not take up employment or had to give it up.
