COAC 2023: order of performance of the children’s final of the Carnival of Cádiz

It is not the great final of the COAC, but it is the small one: this Saturday the Teatro Gran Falla in Cádiz hosts the COAC children’s final (Official Contest of Carnival Groups), in which a total of 10 groups with the smallest of each house (but no less funny for that) compete to get a better position in the final classification.

The final starts at 4:00 p.m. in the theater, on a day when this will be the only celebration in the Great Falla. The qualifying phase of the adult category came to an end yesterday, Saturday, with the last preliminary session and with a day of rest (for adults, not for theater) the next phase will continue, the quarterfinals, the monday february 6 The repertoires of children’s groups are prepared in the same way as those of adults, although in this category it is rare to find choirs, unlike what happens in the youth category. In this final, for example, they participate four quartets, four chirigotas and two comparsas.

The youth final, for its part, takes place next Saturday, February 12, a little later, at 5:00 p.m., in the same theater. In the youth category the final will see a smaller participation: there will be only seven groups that risk everything, a choir, three quartets, two chirigotas and a troupe.
