After years of wandering, he ends up in a town located in the Eastern Borderlands, where he is employed in a mill. There, he realizes he can heal people. Soon he starts a quack business, for which he does not take money. It turns out that his daughter, whom he still does not remember, works in the nearby town he visits.
Maria Kowalska is the new Marysia Wilczórówna
In the 1982 adaptation, the role of Professor Wilczur’s daughter was played by Anna Dymna. The actress is best known by many Poles for this role. The latest adaptation will be released on Netflix later this year. The young actress Maria Kowalska played Marysia Wilczórówna there.
The 26-year-old studied at the Łódź film school, and some viewers may know her well from the small screen. Kowalska has already participated in the famous TVN series “Under the Surface”. There she played the role of a rebellious teenager, Aleksandra Kostrzewska, who returned to Poland after a few years. She moved in with her father Maciej (Łukasz Simlat), whom she blamed for the breakdown of the family, and the very return to her homeland was a painful collision with reality.
According to Filmweb, the series “Under the surface” was the only major production for Kowalska in which she managed to appear. In addition, she also played small roles in such films as: “Przedświt”, “Porachunki”, “Plot” and “Nothing is lost”. Participation in the new “Znachorze” will definitely change this and open the way for the young girl to participate in other large productions .
So far, the actress has not given too many interviews and definitely cares about her privacy. In the network you can find several materials in which the actress speaks about the series “Under the surface”. The upcoming “Znachor” will be the third screen adaptation of the novel by Tadeusz Dołęga-Mostowicz, which he published in 1937. Michał Gazda is responsible for directing, for whom it will be the first such a large project. The previous adaptation from 1982, which is considered the most iconic, was directed by Jerzy Hoffman. The first adaptation of “Quick Man” was made in the same year as the book, and was directed by Michał Waszyński.
