Communication workshop
Veronica Arosemena will deliver the last online workshop of 2021. ‘How to speak in front of the camera and captivate your audience’, activity aimed at those who video calls are part of their work life or for those who want to post videos on social networks or if they have to make presentations online. You will learn techniques on how to present safe, engaging and high-impact content, mastering verbal and body language.
Topics to be covered are creating content that grabs the audience’s attention, three types of powerful startups and how to use them in videos, how to harness the storytelling to be a better communicator, correct use of the voice to enhance messages: speed and volume, exercises to improve vocalization and diction, fillers and how to avoid them in videos, use of body language to reinforce messages, provide movement and be more persuasive, demonstrate assertiveness through body language and exercise to integrate what was learned in the workshop and receive a feedback personalized. Book presentation in Alausí

The Guayaquil historian Gabriel Fandiño addresses in his book Colonel José Antonio Pontón, Commander of Guerrillas in Independence. The history of the Alausí insurgent and the Sucre guerrillas in the Quito Liberation Campaign (1821-1822). The presentation of the book will be carried out by the historians Melvin Hoyos, Germán Arteta and Galo García Idrovo. During the event, members of the Grand Lodge of Ecuador (based in Guayaquil) will present a plaque for the 201 anniversary of Alausí’s independence. The author will also provide the city with digital copies of the 21 unpublished letters from José Antonio Pontón used in the investigation.
