COAC 2023: order of performance of the youth semifinal of the Carnival of Cádiz

The Official Contest of Carnival Groups (COAC) of Cádiz It’s not just for adults. The art of the man from Cádiz has been worked on from a very young age and this is demonstrated the COAC quarry, the youngest of the house. This weekend, at the same time that the preliminary phase of the adult contest progresses, so does the youth contest, which starts in the semifinal this Saturday. A total of eight groups participate in this phase and each of the days of the weekend they will go out to the scenario of the Great Falla four; They will do it at 4:00 p.m.already warming up the atmosphere for the night sessions.

During the first day of the young semifinal (not the youngest, there is also a children’s contest) a choir, two chirigotas and a quartet participate. For its part, during the second session, which takes place on Sunday, a comparsa, two quartets and a chirigota will take the stage. This is the order in which they will go out to demonstrate their power:

In this edition a single choir is presented, The leagueand only troupe, the goddess of the seanewly created, after last year’s winner, At the foot of the cove, don’t show up this year: some of your members have already gone on to participate in the adult COAC. Something similar happens with the chirigotas, since some of the members of Diego Letrán’s chirigota have merged with Çembrando Copla, one of the chirigotas of the adult category, as indicated in the Carnival Code. Of the three that do participate, only one is from Cádiz (The witnesses of the 3×4), while the other two come from Córdoba (Granja Escuela) and from Dos Hermanas (The most…faces return), the latter later to get the second prize in the last edition. As for quartets, in the youth semifinal there will be three: El Gran Golpe, Los Pochettino Tovar Verdejo del Complejo, who in 2022 won third prize, and Qué pechá: arropía.
