“Wow, I love it”: for this reason Piqué listened to ‘Monotonía’ before separating from Shakira

With more than 200 million views on YouTube, ‘Music Sessions #53’, a collaboration between Shakira and the Argentine DJ Bizarrap, has been one of the most popular tracks of what could be considered the ‘Vengeance Trilogy’ which, along with ‘I congratulate you’ and ‘Monotonía’, the Colombian has dedicated to her ex-partner Gerard Piqué.

These three hits by the singer are characterized by scathing phrases that reproach the attitudes and infidelities he received from the former soccer player during the last months of their relationship.

Riqui Puig, Gerard Piqué’s friend who consented to his infidelity with Clara Chía, reappears at an Ozuna concert; He posts an image with the phrase “It wasn’t your fault” from Shakira’s song “Monotonía”

These lyrics were mostly written by the composer Keityn, who revealed more details about these songs to the YouTube channel MoluscoTv, as published by El Tiempo.

‘Monotonia’ came before the problems between Shakira and Piqué

According to the Colombian composer, ‘Monotonía’ had already been written before he met the artist and he presented it to him when he was finally able to meet her in person, long before the problems in the relationship began.

“This is the last straw”: They filter video of Shakira’s mother-in-law covering her mouth, telling her to shut up and Piqué as if nothing had happened

Since they were already in the artist’s private studio, they both recorded the song and it would have been saved, since Shakira really had no specific use for it at that time.

“Shakira will always sing to you what she feels […] when she’s in love, she makes you a love song; when she’s angry, she makes you a spiteful song, ”Keityn highlighted in another interview for MoluscoTv.

‘Monotonía’, a collaboration between the Colombian and Ozuna, was released on October 19, 2022, a year after both musicians recorded it and just when the break between the Colombian and the Spanish became the front-page headline for entertainment newspapers and magazines.

Similarly, the composer indicated that Piqué himself was present during the recording of this song and would have even commented “Wow, I love it.”

Also, at that time, the song did not have the famous phrase “Suddenly you were no longer the same, you left me because of your narcissism, you forgot what we were one day”, as this was added by Shakira at the last minute.
