“For Good and for Bad” is one of the most watched productions of Polish Television. The first episode of the medical-moral series was broadcast on November 7, 1999 and is shown continuously to this day. It is the longest weekly series in the history of Polish television and the second series (after “Klan”) in terms of the number of years of continuous production.
A lot of actors have played in the production over the years. The most characteristic are the characters that appear in the telenovela from the beginning of its broadcasting, but also those who played in the first years and later left the cast. One of such people is Jan Prosiński, who played the son of doctor Walicki, i.e. Paweł. He appeared in the series from the first to the 161st episode, which aired in 2003.
How did the further fate of Jan Prosiński develop?
Jan Prosiński is the son of cinematographer Jacek Prosiński. He said goodbye to the cast of the soap opera about the inhabitants and patients of Leśna Góra four years later, when he decided to go to college. He decided to follow in his father’s footsteps and chose the Department of Cinematography and Television Production of the National Higher School of Film, Television and Theater. Leon Schiller in Łódź, which he graduated in 2007. Since then, he has been a camera operator and cinematographer in the production of feature films, documentaries and commercials.
The list of productions on which he had the opportunity to work as an operator is very long. These include the films “Once again” and “Fur from a teddy bear”, series such as “Codzienna 2 m. 3”, “Ekler”, or the TV theater show “Reytan. The other side of the door”. The man also tried his hand as a director and screenwriter, which resulted in productions such as “Linia” and “Szpada”.
On his website we can also read that he cooperates with numerous museums, such as the National Museum, the Museum of Polish History or the Museum of the History of Polish Jews – Polin. However, the most interesting entry is in which he informs about his professional experience with the Warsaw Uprising Museum: “Since the end of my studies, I have been cooperating with the Warsaw Uprising Museum. As part of this cooperation, I shot nearly a thousand interviews with participants and witnesses of the Warsaw Uprising and several dozen film reports.”
