The Buenos Aires Book Fair, one of the most important cultural events in Latin America, concluded this Monday a “historic” edition number 46, which” broke all records” having received more than 1.3 million visitorsThe organizers of the event reported.
The Book Foundation (FEL), organizing entity of the Fair, detailed in a statement that a total of 1,324,500 people attended to the literary meeting since it opened its doors to the public on April 28.
For this reason, and because of the good response from the publishing industry, with more than 1,727 stamps and 610 local and international exhibitors present, the FEL stressed that the 46th edition of the Buenos Aires Book Fair was “historic” and “fulfilled everyone’s expectations.”
During the last three weeks, the Fair organized a total of 997 cultural activities in the different rooms of the La Rural propertyas well as 3,956 signatures from different authors.

Likewise, the writers whose signatures lasted the longest were the Americans. John Katzenbach and Shelby Mahurin and the Argentines Agustín Laje, Florencia Bonelli and Pamela Stupia.
The professional conferences, held between April 26 and 28, also registered a “record” of participants: more than 12,000 workers from thirty countries gathered on those days to carry out commercial exchanges, do business and participate in seminars and conferences.
One of the main “advantages” of these days was the free shipment of books, which benefited 325 international clients and another 329 nationals, with shipments of 10,045 and 27,961 kilograms of books, respectively.
