The last summer of youth, freedom and carefreeness in the rhythm of hip-hop and in the shadow of approaching adulthood – this is the story of “Bread and Salt”, honored at the 79th Venice International Film Festival with the Orizzonti Jury Special Award, inspired by real events, the full-length debut of Damian Kocur, laureate over a hundred awards for his previous short films. “Bread and Salt” was appreciated for directing at the 59th Golden Orange Film Festival in Antalya, received the Youth Jury Award at the 60th International Film Festival in Gijón and the Bronze Pyramid statuette for the best debut in the Main Competition at the 44th Cairo International Film Festival. The production was also awarded twice at the Festival of Young East European Cinema in Cottbus with the DIALOG Award “for understanding between cultures” and the Special Award for directing.
We also mention “Aftersun” with Paul Mescal – even a week before the production hits theaters. And besides, what else?
“Temptation” by Maria Sadowska enters cinemas. It is a film inspired by real events, revealing the backstage of the world of sports, media and show business. We will see in it, among others: Helena Englert, Piotr Stramowski, Joanna Liszowska and Piotr Głowacki. One of the main roles in the film was also played by Andrea Preti, whom the Polish viewer remembers from the movie “Girls from Dubai”. The screen will also feature famous celebrities and influencers: Klaudia El Dursi, Ewa Ekwa, Ola Ciupa and Damian “Stifler” Zduńczyk.
Tom Hanks will be seen in the American remake of the Swedish film “A Man Called Ove”. In flashbacks, young Otto is also played by Truman Hanks, the actor’s youngest son.
And Netflix will show a new fantasy series. In a world overrun by ghosts, large corporations hire paranormal youth to fight supernatural forces. Only one company operates without adult supervision – that’s Lockwood & Co. It is led by Anthony Lockwood, a rebellious young entrepreneur who is haunted by the demons of a mysterious past. He is helped by the brilliant but eccentric George and a new, extremely talented girl named Lucy. This unlikely trio is about to uncover a terrifying secret that will change the course of history.
