Almost a week after Miss Universe 2022, comments are still being made on social networks and debates on show programs about who should have won the pageant, with everyone leaning towards the Venezuelan Amanda Dudamel, who was listed as the great favorite.

However, the surprise was given by the organization and the final result, which left Miss USA, R’Bonney Gabriel, as the winner of the most important beauty pageant in the world, despite the fact that she was not in any of the experts’ top favorites.

Miss Venezuela 2021 visited the Telemundo program “La Mesa Caliente” to tell part of what her experience was like, what she felt when she was locked hands with the American with Filipino descent and who she felt was her biggest competition.

Dudamel said that “in the end I only had a chance to congratulate her,” referring to the second finalist, Andreina Martínez, representative of the Dominican Republic.

However, they had the opportunity to talk before the final gala. “A dinner that we shared together and Andreina is truly a spectacular girl, very sweet too and was very focused on the competition. Really, from the day she arrived she was impeccable, ”said the Venezuelan.

In this way, Dudamel affirmed that his great contender was Miss Dominican Republic. “Yes, without a doubt, I felt that Andreina was one of the strongest.”

The native of the Mérida state said that “the days after the preliminary, you know that the rumors begin to be felt, who can go up, who can go down. The media issue in social networks had a great influence, I imagine that this was how it was lived in past editions and Andreina was very strong”.

Dudamel then revealed what he felt at the moment when Andreina Martínez was second runner-up and she went on to hold hands with Miss USA to wait for the presenters to name the winner.

“I felt that I had a great possibility. At no time did I say ‘yeah, I won here’. I said ‘I have a great chance’ and I continued praying, ‘God please’ and it said ‘Venezuela, Venezuela’”, said the daughter of the former technical director of Vinotinto, Rafael Dudamel.
