Sometimes only after purchase it turns out that they are ill-fitting and uncomfortable. Fortunately, there are home remedies to stretch your shoes. It is worth trying them out before resorting to the help of a shoemaker – thanks to simple tricks, the feeling of discomfort will quickly disappear. One method is to use a popular vegetable.
How to stretch shoes? Put the potatoes inside and leave it overnight, and the problem will go away
Footwear made of natural leather can be easily stretched using one of the most popular vegetables in Poland, i.e
- Wash and peel two potatoes.
- Put them in your shoes, press them into the tips and leave them overnight.
- Take out the potatoes, wipe the shoes with a damp cloth and let them dry.
The potato juice will soften the material of the shoes as they stretch. The method will also work well to remove unpleasant odors. It should only be used on shoes made of natural leather, as other materials may be damaged in this way.
How to stretch shoes? Use water bags
Another method of breaking leather shoes is to use plastic bags filled with water.
- Fill the bags with water and tie them so they don’t leak. Make sure the plastic is not damaged.
- Put handbags in shoes that are too tight.
- Wrap the shoes in foil or paper and put them in the freezer for a few hours.
- Remove the ice from your shoes and repeat the operation.
After the second try, the shoes will be stretched and will become much more comfortable.
How to enlarge shoes by size? Use socks and a dryer
The third way is to use socks and a dryer. The method will make the shoes perfectly adapt to the foot.
- Wear thick socks and tight shoes on your feet.
- Warm tight areas with the warm stream from the hair dryer. 20-30 seconds is enough. Remember to use a medium power of the device and move the dryer vigorously so as not to dry and burn the skin.
