Eurovision 2023 It is just around the corner. Well not really. there are a couple of month for that expected to arrive may 13th, the day the contest will be held from Liverpool. What’s more, they already know each other the two blocks of performances into which have been divided the 18 artists. Some more daring than others but all of them hope to land in Liverpool in May to represent their country with their proposals: ‘I want to burn’, by Agoney; ‘Since you are here’ by Alfred García; ‘I would like’, by Alice Wonder; ‘Flamenco’, by Aritz Aren; ‘EaEa’, by Blanca Paloma; ‘Whew!’ of E’femme; ‘La Lola’ by Famous; ‘My family’ by Fusa Nocta; ‘Winters on Mars’ by José Otero; ‘I want and mourn’ by Karmento; ‘Arcadia’ from Megara; ‘They will not move us’ by Meler; ‘Traction’ by Rakky Ripper; Sharonne’s ‘Air’; ‘Que esclati tot’ by Siderland; ‘Tuki’ by Sofía Martín; ‘Sayonara’ by Twin Melody; and ‘Nighttime’ by Vicco.
one. agoney, ‘I want to burn’ is composed by Agoney himself and Blackpanda. It is built on a violin set that merge into a base of unpredictable and multisensory electronics to seduce the public with this whim that is as daring as it is sincere.
2. The letter of alfred garcia and music by Alfred García and Raúl Gómez have shaped ‘since you are‘, a pop-rock theme that embraces the heaven and hell that people carry inside, the two engines that make the heart beat at the same time as the desires. The one who wants to risk everything without fear of being nothing more than the truth of his successes and his mistakes.
3. of Alice Wonder en ‘I would like’ is an indie, alternative and dream pop song that, in the words of its author, “is the inner storm that occurs inside someone who gives up trying to understand the world, simply lives in it. It seems that the message is pessimistic, but he is really positive, he is a continuist, he leans towards faith despite the incongruity of life itself”.
Four. ‘Flemish’, by Aritz Arén, is made up of Carlos Marco, Frida Amundsen, Kaci Brown, Sam Gray and Tonino Speciale and puts the most international pop in a shaker with the flavor of Spanish pop arrangements and influences. It is a unique piece in which the trending sounds and a current “beat”, with other organic and racial ones such as the Spanish guitar or the castanets.

8. Miriam Nares Signes (Fusa Nocta) signature’My family‘ together with Ignacio Moreno González and Carlos Padilla Linares. The theme, which navigates between various musical genres such as trap, flamenco, rap and electronic music, is a journey that shows the many facets of the family, from the most beautiful to the darkest part of it.
9.’winters on mars‘, by José Otero, is made up of Manu Chalud, Gabi Ore, Kenia Saiz, Karen Méndez and José Otero. It is a power ballad drama that speaks of an “impossible love”.
10.’I want and mourn‘, composed by the singer Karmento (Carmen Toledo) herself, is a local expression from an area of La Mancha that serves to express the feeling of wanting something and dealing with the pain and difficulty of achieving it. This song belongs to the genre of neofolklore.
11. Sara Jiménez Moral, Roberto La Lueta Ruiz and Israel Dante Ramos (Megara) are the creators of ‘Arcadia’, a song fucksia rock who enters a mythical world. A secret and idyllic place where any human being would have wanted to live but where there is also room for drama, with dark and dangerous areas.
12.’They will not move us‘, by Meler, is a song designed to be played live. A song composed by Jonathan Geraint Burt, Francisco Javier Pagalday González, Natalia Neva Martín, Oliver García Cerón and José Héctor Portilla Rodríguez that radiates energy and leaves no one indifferent.
13.’Traction‘, by Rakky Ripper, is signed by Raquel García Cabrerizo (Rakky Ripper), Joan Valls Paniza and Rubén Pérez Pérez and is a song that mixes hardcore, drum&bass and even technowhich talks about unexpressed feelings.
14.’Air‘, the proposal by Sharonne (Cristóbal Garrido), composed together with the interpreter herself along with Iván Torrent and Alejandro Barroso, speaks of freedom.
fifteen. ‘what a slave tot‘, made of sideland (Uri Plana, Albert Sort, Andreu Manyós) in collaboration with Roger Argemí, shares many of the characteristic elements of the night pop championed by the group: epic melodies, catchy choruses and resources typical of the music of electronic dance.
16.’tuki‘, by Sofía Martín, is made up of Sofía Martín herself, Freddy Rochow and Claudio Maselli and is a dynamic combination of Spanish and Latin rhythms, featuring contemporary European sounds and beats from electronic and dance music. The lyrics of the song show that it is possible to achieve your dreams no matter where you come from, how much money you have, or whether people believe in you or not.
17. For their part, the sisters Paula and Aitana (Twin Melody) present ‘sayonara‘, a happy and optimistic pop song composed together with Jonhatan Gueraint (Meler) and Natalia Neva Martín. A proposal that contains lyrics in 5 languages -Spanish, English, French, Basque and Japanese- and is a song to empowerment and self-love, to leave behind and say goodbye to the things that do not fill or represent and the people who do not value.
18. Vicco herself (Victoria Riba) is the author of ‘nocturna‘, his proposal for the Benidorm Fest, together with Rubén Pérez Pérez and Joan Valls Paniza. A song that talks about that moment when you like a person and you do whatever it takes to see them, a hymn to happiness full of good vibes and the desire to enjoy life, with very catchy melodies.
When is the Benidorm Fest
The Benidorm Fest 2023 will take place the next January 31 Y February 2. In the first of the semifinals Agoney, Alice Wonder, Aritz Aren, Fusa Nocta, Megara, Meler, Sharonne, Sofía Martín and Twin Melody will participate. In the second semifinal Alfred García, Blanca Paloma, E’Femme, Famous, José Otero, Karmento, Rakky Ripper, Siderlan and Vicco will do it.
Other performances and events have been prepared in the days leading up to the contest. The Benidorm Festival will start the sunday january 29 with an orange carpet where the presenters, the contestants, faces of RTVE will be. There will also be a small subsequent reception already behind closed doors, which will be broadcast. Carlos Higes, Rosa López and the Unión Musical de Benidorm and Societat Musical ‘La Nova’ de Benidorm will perform at this reception, who will make medleys of great Eurovision songs.
On Monday, January 30, the doors of the EuroClub will open on RTVE. Both on Monday and Wednesday at the Benidorm Palace there will be groups, singers and artists who have stayed at the gates of entering this Benidorm Fest and familiar faces from the previous one such as Sara Deop, Bel, Carmen Puente, Álvaro Montes, Adonay Santana, Nena Daconte and Azúcar Moreno, among others. Already on Wednesday, February 1, Kingdom, Gatica, Ernesto Alonso, Borja Escalona, Karina, Juana, Juanma Fernández, El Guapo Calavera, Tanxugueiras and Ruth Lorenzo will perform.
The fridayat the Tecnohito in Benidorm, will take place a free concert which will include Soraya Arnelas, Marta Sango, Gonzalo Hermida, Ronela and WRS, author of the song ‘Call me’ and representative of Romania in the last Eurovision Song Contest. Both Tuesday and Thursday there will be screens to see the semifinals and the final at different points in the city of Alicante.
