At the age of 90, composer John Williams earned his fifty-third Academy Award or Oscar nomination for the original score for The Fabelmans, Steven Spielberg’s semi-autobiographical film. Thus he retains his record as the most nominated composer and the most nominated living person for Oscars.
Of all these candidacies, the musician has five statuettes, including three won in collaborations with Spielberg (shark, E.T. Y schindler’s list). The Academy statistics also present him as the oldest nominee in a competition category.
Williams, who has been collaborating with Spielberg for 50 years, would only rank after the late Walt Disney.who holds the all-time record for the most Oscars (22) and the most individual nominations (59).
After hearing the news, the composer said he was very grateful for the recognition, “and hugely grateful to Steven Spielberg for offering me the opportunity to compose the band for this very special and personal film”.

And I explained to him that we would have an orchestra that would play very loud parts and others that would be very quiet”.
The Fabelmans was nominated for Best Original Score along with No news at the front, Babylon, the spirits of the island Y Everything everywhere at the same time. In addition, he has seven other options to win, including best supporting actor for Judd Hirsch, best leading actress for Michelle Williams, best directing, best picture, best production design and best original screenplay.
