The script was written by the author of the praised “Control” about Joy Division frontman Ian Curtis, Matt Greenhalgh, who is now also responsible for “Back to Black”. Despite the appreciation of the work of both filmmakers, there were also voices of criticism. That’s because the director also shot the controversial “50 Shades of Grey”, a film adaptation of an erotic novel. Amy Winehouse fans, however, make other accusations against her.

Not just photos. Fans were outraged by a particular scene

Pictures from the set were released last week. Internet users pointed out that although Marisa Abel, who played the creator of “Back to Black”, had a characteristic hairstyle, the similarity ends there. The filmmakers were accused of the actress looking like she was parodying the artist or mistaking the film plans – in their opinion, she fits more “Scary Movie”.

Recently, more fragments have hit the network, this time from the scene of the arrest of Winehouse’s husband, Blake. They show a crying singer, held back by police officers, who screams in despair: “I want to go with him. I love you. Baby, I’ll be fine.” According to fans, the situation was presented too grotesquely.

The production, unlike Asif Kapadia’s Oscar-winning documentary “Amy” from 2015, is supported by Mitch Winehouse, the artist’s father. He accused the earlier production of not only presenting his daughter in a bad light, but also portraying him as an absent father, which, in his opinion, is not true. The man threatened to take legal action to prevent the film from being distributed in UK cinemas. Mitch was outraged by the part where he says on camera that he doesn’t think Amy should go to rehab. The creators treated this issue selectively, because it was he who later persuaded her to seek professional help, and after his death, he co-founded the Amy Winehouse Foundation, which educates young people about the dangers of alcohol and drugs. He repeatedly asked the filmmakers to edit questionable fragments, but the production chose to ignore them.
