Musical ‘The end of the year parties in Guayaquil yesterday’, this Thursday, December 15, at the Civic Center

This Thursday, December 15, at 6:00 p.m., the free show “Year-end festivities in Guayaquil yesterday” is presented, authored by Dr. Katia Murrieta. The musical will be in the Civic Center auditorium, with free admission.

in this program we try to remember and perpetuate the customs and traditions of our city, on the occasion of the Christmas and New Year holidays, from the 1950s onwards. The idea, says Murrieta, who also directs and produces, is to rescue the spiritual aspect of these celebrations, which began in December with the Advent, or stage of preparation to receive the birth of Jesus; the inns, with which they recalled the various stations that José and María had to do asking for shelter before arriving in Bethlehem; the way they were made mangers and the Christmas tree was decorated, the arrival of santa claus and finally the burning of the old year.

The work is divided into three parts, without interruptions. As the events are narrated, they are represented on stage with the accompaniment of lights, sounds and special effects.

For recreation, carols, national and foreign, are sung and danced, with the intervention of the tenor Hugo Orchardof the soprano Yanina Murga and the cast of the dance group of the Ibero-American Art Corporation Directed by Fernando Rebutty.

Children, young people and older adults will recreate the Child’s Pass and the arrival of Santa Claus, represented by the actor Marcelo Galvezwho will dialogue with the public about the reason for the distribution of gifts, the existence of the tree and many more details, to then begin the preparations to say goodbye to the old year, with the different cabals that were made: the burning of the doll, the screams of the children asking for charity for the puppet and the presence of the widows who cry the year he dies, among which the artist stands out Yuber Segarra.

To liven up the atmosphere, the magazine ends with happy songs in the singer’s voice joe vincentwho will invite those present to dance. (AND)
