Although some people think that potatoes are an unnecessary addition to the diet, it turns out that they contain many valuable vitamins and minerals. It is a rich source of starch, potassium, calcium, zinc, magnesium, phosphorus, iron, copper, manganese and vitamins A, B, C, E. Such a mixture makes potatoes healthy. Many delicious dishes can be prepared from the tubers, and they can also be reused after cooking.

How to make mashed potatoes? Add milk and it will come out soft and fluffy

and melt-in-your-mouth potato purée is not difficult to prepare. It is enough to use a few popular products and add milk, and almost everyone will like it.

Ingredients:

  • 1 kg of potatoes;
  • 1 cup of milk;
  • 4 tablespoons of butter;
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • half a teaspoon of nutmeg

A method of preparing:

  1. Peel, wash the potatoes and cook them until tender in salted water.
  2. Drain the tubers, add the butter and nutmeg and pour in the milk.
  3. Knead and mix everything – by hand or with a blender. It is important that the consistency is smooth and creamy.
  4. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

What can you do with boiled potatoes? You will use them in many ways

Boiled potatoes that are left over from dinner don’t have to end up in the bin. They can be reused in many different ways.

  1. Potato chops – Just season the potatoes as you like, mash them, dip them in flour, egg and breadcrumbs, then fry them. It is also a good idea to put a cube of yellow cheese inside the mass.
  2. Stuffing for dumplings — If you like to prepare dumplings with potatoes and cottage cheese, you can use the tubers left over from the previous day. The stuffing will taste just as good, maybe even better.
  3. Pies – Grate the cold potatoes, prepare the dough as for pancakes (without sugar) and add grated cheese to it. Put potatoes, selected spices and herbs into the mass, mix everything and fry small pancakes over low heat and a small amount of fat.
