On January 15, probably the loudest launch of the platform this year debuted. Screening of the game “” is a production immediately hailed by critics as revolutionary in its genre. Even before the official premiere of the first episode of the series, there were voices that it was the best adaptation of the computer hit in the history of cinema so far.
The creator of the game released in 2013, Neil Druckmann, joined forces with Craig Mazin, who is responsible for the series “Chernobyl”. Together, they wrote the script for a series about a post-apocalyptic vision of the world, which was overrun by a mysterious pandemic.
The plot of the production focuses on Joel (Pedro Pascal), who, in order to cope with a completely new reality, becomes a smuggler. Unexpectedly, a responsible task falls on him – he is to escort teenage Ellie (Bella Ramsey), who seems to be the key to fighting a mysterious disease that is destroying the world.

The first episode of the series ends with Joel, Ellie and Tess (Anna Torv) escaping the quarantine zone. However, they are stopped by a soldier whom Joel had smuggled pills to before. The man has to perform the duty of checking the heroes whether they are infected with the disease, Ellie attacks him during the procedure and runs away.
When detecting an infection in a teenager, the device shows that the girl is infected. When he sees the concern on the faces of his companions, he rolls up the sleeves of his blouse and shows Joel and Tess the healed bite wound – he points out that it is from three weeks ago and the fungus causing the plague apparently does not work on her, because she has not turned into a “zombie” to this day.
Why doesn’t the mystery mushroom work on Ellie? Is its existence a hope of finding an antidote for the infected? How will the mission of the three heroes go on? Perhaps we will find out in the second episode of the series “The Last of Us”.

In Poland, the second episode of “The Last of Us” will be available on HBO Max on the night of January 22 to 23, and viewers using e.g. from cable TV will be able to see it on January 23 at 20:10 on HBO.
The second episode of the series will be slightly shorter than the first. The episode lasts just over 50 minutes. It was titled “Infected”. HBO has released a few photos announcing the next episode of the series. It can be concluded from them that in the next episode we will receive more flashbacks regarding the beginning of the pandemic. In addition, the three heroes escaping from the quarantine zone will probably meet a lot of danger.
The first season of the series will have nine episodes. Although no declarations have been made by the creators about the second season of the series, the production is so popular that it’s hard to imagine not continuing it.
