Children will be the most celebrated on these dates by the Guayaquil Symphony Orchestra (OSG), the musical group prepares a series of Christmas concerts led by three choirs: the G.S.O. Community Choir, Choral Academy ESGdirected by the teacher Enrique Silva Gil and the Choir of the CEMBA Musical Academy, by Roberto Falquez.
“We joined because we are aware that Guayaquil is a city of choirs, Guayaquil is a city of people who love to sing and the orchestra as such has a community outreach program, through which these independent initiatives are given the opportunity to get closer to the process of professional musicians,” he says. Ana Tamayo DeMora, who considers that the OSG constitutes a very important platform for the visibility of cultural processes.
Carols and traditional Christmas songs will be part of these showsbut also a selection of The Nutcracker, of Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky.
These shows will have the special participation of three children’s soloists: Naomi Wright Varas, Paula Rendon Cedeño and Victor Leonel Cifuentes, three children who for the first time will have the opportunity to perform with OSG and whom Tamayo describes as privileged voices.
“From the orchestra we have contributed with their vocal preparation… and as far as I know it would be the first time that there will be child soloists, which also constitutes attention to a group, which within the celebrations, has seen a side”, mentions the also singer.
To these shows will also be added Vivian Rodriguez, of Napoli Opera. “She will be part of a very special surprise for the children,” Tamayo advances.
The first concert will be this Sunday, December 11, 2022, at 6:00 p.m., in the Acoustic Shell of Parque Samanes. The second presentation will be Friday, December 16 at 7:00 p.m. in the Eloy Alfaro Civic Center Theater. Access to all concerts is free and will be directed by the teacher Victoria Perez.
In addition, the chamber groups of the OSG will give concerts daily in the hospitals and shelters of the Junta de Beneficencia de Guayaquil; as well as at the Children International Community Centers of Guayaquil and Durán, and on December 20 they will play at the Christian Center. (YO)
