There are a lot of applications and we certainly don’t know all of them yet. Still, not everyone knows that the product does not have to be used only as an aid in cooking. It turns out that it can also solve many common household problems. Did you know that foil can significantly speed up the ironing of clothes? We explain how it works, what to look out for and what to do.
Ironing aluminum foil. Thanks to it, you will finish the task much faster
Aluminum foil, due to its structure, has a number of important, helpful properties. It turns out that if you place it under the clothes you are going to iron, the whole process will be successful and the creases will disappear much faster. The product lined with the shiny side up in contact with the heat emitted by the iron will act as a natural insulator. Thanks to this, the material will heat up in the blink of an eye from both sides, and thus, ironing will take less time.
Ironing foil can be used in two ways:
- Prepare a large piece of aluminum foil, place it under your clothes and start ironing.
- Spread the aluminum foil directly on the ironing board, cover it with a cover and iron.
The foil can also be used to clean a dirty iron. If dirt or burns stick to the surface, iron a few crumpled balls of foil and the problem will quickly disappear.
What else can you use aluminum foil for? Use it to clean tarnished silver cutlery
In addition to ironing, aluminum foil will also work well when cleaning tarnished silver cutlery.
- Line a bowl (make sure it’s not metal) with foil, shiny side up.
- Put the silver cutlery you want to clean inside.
- Prepare a solution of salt and water, and pour the liquid over the cutlery.
- Wait a few hours, rinse the items with clean water and polish them dry with a soft cloth.
