Miss Universe 2022: 16 finalists paraded with custom capes

The Miss Universe 2022 contest advances and the 16 finalists have already been selected. In a new stage they had to parade in a bathing suit and wearing custom capes.

In a preliminary round, all the candidates had already shown the capes that included important messages. The organization had given them white capes to convey their message.

This Saturday, the candidates again carried them to the rhythm of Tank and The Bangas and little by little they left the stage. The first to enter the catwalk was Miss Puerto Rico, Ashley Cariño, who had written the words on her cape be and let be (to be and let it be, in Spanish) and wanted people to be authentic.

From there came the turn to Haiti, Mideline Phelizor, who embodied voodoo symbols of beauty and represented peace and unity. For her part, Australia, Monique Riley, dyed her cape blue and purple representing the sky of her country, she included a kangaroo to show strength and empowerment.

The cape from the Dominican Republic, Andreina Martínez, showed the nature of her country. In the case of Laos, Payengza Lor wanted to recreate each of the ethnic regions with woven fabrics.

South Africa, Ndavi Nokeri, on the other hand, wore a cape with images of women and several words on them. For her part, Telma Madeira, from Portugal, alluded to bullying and depression in her cape, this was carried out by an association that cares for people with mental disabilities.

Canada, Amelia Tu, wore the cape, with red and green colors to represent the colors of her flag and natural resources. Peru, Alessia Rovegno, wore a cape with the message of accepting diversity and several women were observed. In Trinidad and Tobago’s turn, Tya Jane Ramey wore a cape in which she denounced the negative effects of climate change.

Curacao, Gabriela Dos Santos, wore a cape in which several women in various disciplines were drawn and highlighted the role they could have. Miss India, Divita Rai, wore a cape that represented the diversity of her country.

Venezuela, Amanda Dudamel, wore a cape created by children in which the message children are not toys stood out. Spain, Alicia Faubel, wore a cape that highlighted sexual diversity. United States, R’Bonney Gabriel, had been inspired by a rising phoenix.

Finally, Miss Colombia, María Fernanda Aristizabal, had written SOS Water and drawn a drop of water. (YO)
