The actor Jason Momoa is very sure that he will continue in the role of Aquaman in the DC Cinematic Universe, having met with DC Studio heads James Gunn and Peter Safran to discuss his future.
“I will always be Aquaman” Momoa told the magazine Variety, “but there could be other characters out there.” Rumor has it that the Hawaiian would play a different superhero, Lobo, in a film authorized by Gunn and Safran. He does not confirm these data, but he does not deny them either.
Momoa met this weekend with his costar of game of ThronesEmily Clark. In that series, he was Khal Drogo, barbarian chief and first husband of Danaerys Targaryen, Clark’s character. They met at the Sundance Film Festival in Salt Lake City, Utah.
“I’m in the house of Warner Bros., and they are liking what I am doing, we have many good things to come,” Momoa promised at Sundance, where he went to present the documentary Deep Rising, of which he is the narrator. It is an investigation into the organizations that are extracting metals from the sea floor. The environment is one of his passions.
“There is something beautiful about aquaman and the lost kingdomand it is that my partner and I wrote the first essay, and it was a 55-page document, talking about what is happening about the melting of the ice sheets. There is no distant galaxy coming to destroy us or aliens from another world; it’s us ruining our planet. We must unite and save our home.”
The artist also wanted to talk about his versatility, explaining that just as he can be a hero or a savage, he can be “funny and charming.” He added that he had never imagined that a production would want to use only his voice. “I want to bring light to more movies like Deep Rising”.
At the moment, Momoa is also the main face of the documentary about climbing The Climb, which is on HBO Max. (AND)
