From this Thursday, November 10 to Saturday, November 12, the first Independent Literature Meeting (ELI) in it theater the stable, of the Big House University. Workshops, talks, book presentations, plays and a book market are part of this cultural proposal, which will bring together cultural managers, writers, booksellers and publishers to debate the country’s bookstore news.

This meeting will start with a keynote talk “The iliad: images of violence”, which will be dictated by Andrea Crespo at 10:00. The writer will also give a reading workshop on the book Rooster’s head and other stories, of Cesar Davila Andrade, at 15:00. The official opening will be at 4:00 p.m., in which the digital magazine will be presented Spectacled Caiman. At 4:30 p.m., Performing Arts students will present Moliere 400with the special invitation of Marina Salvarezza, Diego Ortega Y Marcelo Leyton. The first day of the conference will close at 18:30 with the presentation of the book You brought the wind with you, by Natalia Garcia Freire.
Topics like diversity in writing, narrating from the landscape or the challenges in local literature add up to this meeting gestated by the Literature career, of the new Faculty of Arts of the Casa Grande.
Likewise, those who attend will be able to enjoy a book market with the presence of eleven publishers and bookstores: Exquisite Corpse, Severo, UArtes Ediciones, Monocomics, El Quirófano Ediciones, El Fakir, Fondo de Cultura Económica, El Fauno Verde, Ágora Libros , Animal Fund and PAPs UCG.
“We were interested in three things, like a kind of triad: on the one hand there would be literary production, which goes hand in hand with writers and writers; on the other hand are the publishers, who are in charge of putting these books into circulation; and a third of this triad would be the public”, comment santiago toralcoordinator of the Casa Grande Literature major.
