In December 2022, Gloria Trevi won another stage of her legal battle against Televisión Azteca and the host of the “Ventaneando” program, Paty Chapoy, for alleged defamation. A victory that was repudiated by women who claimed to have been tortured in their youth by the singer and producer Sergio Andrade.
It is for this reason that two victims, identified as Jane Does, raised their voices and filed a new complaint in the United States against both Mexicans for more than 10 years of sexual abuse of minors.

Twenty years have passed since the events recounted in the file of the new lawsuit, disclosed by Rolling Stones, occurred, but it was not an obstacle for the victims to request justice.

The document states that the ‘Perfume’ interpreter would have deceived the complainants by joining the musical training program led by Andrade and that it only worked as a cover for what was really a network of sexual exploitation.

Once recruited, the adolescents who fell into the trap were raped, beaten, psychologically abused and isolated from their families, some even had children with the music producer, according to what was published by El País.
Jane Does 1 stated that she met Gloria Trevi at an event and that for months she was calm at the academy, until one day the singer warned her to please the producer in “any way”, because he was upset with her for being friends with a musician.

The victim was 16 years old and he was 38 when she was raped for the first time, while Jane Does 2 was abused at 13 years of age when the man was 34 years old.
In her case, the second plaintiff met both celebrities during a casting in which she was even asked to undress. Once inside the academy, Trevi’s strategy was to prepare her to be abused by whoever would be her victimizer.
Gloria Trevi denies accusations against her
It should be noted that the document does not indicate the names of both Mexicans or the dancer who is also involved as a recruiter, although it does list the records they recorded and the concerts that Trevi gave between 1991 and 1993 in the United States.
Regarding the singer, on several occasions she has reiterated that they are all false accusations against her and, in 2018, she recognized herself as another victim and assured that she did not feel a grudge against the women who denounced her.
In 2000, both celebrities were captured and in 2004 a judge determined that there was insufficient evidence to support the accusations against the singer, so she was released without charge. Andrade was convicted of rape, kidnapping and corruption of minors, and spent almost seven years behind bars.
