Discover the characters of “Dune” through the new posters

The characters of Dune they have intentions often complex intentions and motivations, in the original Frank Herbert novel. Although its trailer or plot, a priori, can take us to universes like that of Star Wars or even Star Trek, the reality is that this story that takes place on the desert planet of Arrakis is a political novel. In it the conflicts between houses, assassination attempts and conspiracies shine like in Game of Thrones, but unlike the HBO series, here the main thing will be to survive so that later, the indigenous inhabitants of the planet decide where you are in a revolution. The troubles for the premiere with Warner have made us know things about their production drop-by-drop, but now we can see the faces of their main characters up close. Then (and no spoilers) we are going to introduce the characters of Dune through their new posters.

Paul Atreides

He is the undisputed protagonist of the story. Son of Duke Leto and Lady Jessica, this young nobleman has been raised under diplomatic education and employment and mastery with weapons.But he is also, in part, the son of a clan of foreboding witches. This way you can find the truth and predict the future. Legends say that could be the next chosen, the Muad´Dib that the Fremen worship and follow.

Lady Jessica

Mother of Paul Atreides, bruja Benne Gesserit and concubine of the Duke of Leto. Trained by Mother Gaius Helen Mohiam, who is very intrigued by young Paul’s abilities. Lady Jessica will start a path in which she must protect her son at all costs, even when the shadow of doubt and betrayal hangs over her.

Duke Leto

The Duke of Leto is the lord of the fiefdom of the planet Caladan, a green and water-filled territory. Something totally contrary to the new planet that has been assigned, Arrakis. On the desert planet, water is such a precious commodity that the inhabitants use special suits to avoid wasting the moisture from their bodies. Leto is an example of a leader, a good father and a man in love with Lady Jessica.

Ducan Idaho

Former slave of the Harkonnen and now master swordsman of the Atreides family. Ducan teaches Paul on the handling of the sword, but time has also made them great friends.

Gurney

Another of Paul’s teachers and friends. Gurney is a skilled warrior who adapts to any combat terrain. In a one-on-one, this warrior is unbeatable with any weapon of swords and knives. Apart from that, he is a talented musician. According to Ducan Idaho, Gurney can kill you “Without losing a note of his musical instrument”, the basilet.

Chani

Chani, thanks to his visions, Paul already knew. This fremen will be the one to accompany the character of Timothée Chalamet in his training on how life works for these indigenous nomads of Dune.

Stilgar

Political leader of the Fremen and spectacular warrior. Stilgar is constantly challenged in combat to wrest the lead. This fighter will initially have a complicated relationship with Paul and his mother.

Baron Harkonnen

The main antagonist and manipulative genius of this story. The Baron is the head of the Harkonnen household, which is related to the Atreids. However, the Baron hates the Duke of Leto and his entire dynasty, so he will do what he can to make his Duchy of Dune go wrong.
