Euskaraz irakurri: “Bretxa” musikala estreinatuko dute Donostian
The Bergara Antzerki Musikala association premieres this weekend, on Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the Victoria Eugenia theater, a musical show based on the novel “Bretxa” by the writer Toti Martínez de Lezea.
Through an orchestra made up of 30 people, two choirs, a group of dances and projections, a total of 150 artists on stage, the show directed by Oihan Vega and Valen Moñux recounts the tragedy of San Sebastián in 1813.
Tickets for the three sessions this weekend at the Victoria Eugenia are sold out, but those responsible for “Bretxa” have announced their intention to tour the Basque Country with the musical.
The writer Toti Martínez de Lezea has indicated that “when they came to me to explain this gigantic project I told them: you are crazy, and crazy people are welcome in my house”.
The story is set in 1813: the allied army (England, Spain and Portugal) has besieged the city of San Sebastián to expel the French. Many people from San Sebastián have escaped from their homes, but Maritxu will stay to defend his small chocolate shop on Calle Mayor together with his daughter Marina de él. He will pay dearly for that decision, since the allied army will enter Donostia and then…
They have prepared a 180-minute montage, which ETB will record and broadcast on August 31.
