Two couples will test their limits when they mistakenly find themselves in the same hotel room, in a paradisiacal place, far from home and in the middle of a flood. A marriage that is going through a crisis in the face of “uninhibited” boyfriends will demonstrate its true essence in broken people, the play that brings together Ecuadorian actors on stage Erika Vélez, Juan Carlos Román, Nikki Mackliff Y Jose Andres Caballero.

The production, directed by Sebastian Sanchez Amunateguiopens tonight at Casa Julián, as part of the agenda of activities in the second edition of Park Fest, in the Historical Park (it also has activities on the Samborondón boardwalk).
Vélez and Román play Viviana and Jesús, the married couple who undertake this journey to give their relationship a new opportunity. “I believe that the monotony and the fact that the relationship has become something boring, without action, without conversations, laughter, daily work and having many things saved… that creates an internal hatred within them, but it is something hidden that, when you explode, you throw it all away”, says Román.
Regarding the story behind her role, Vélez affirms that most marriages go through a crisis after several years together. “(…) already with adolescent children, what you used to like about your partner no longer. Every day the work, the debts… The complicity that was had at the beginning is lost, and that is what happens to us”, sums up the artist.
According to Román, “each couple is a universe and each person is a universe, and whoever you get together with you will never agree one hundred percent, you will always have some discrepancy, you will have some conflict.” For this reason, he assures that the key to not go through in real life what his characters experience in this work is to learn to overcome conflicts and move forward within the relationship so as not to break.
“The beauty of this work is that it talks about many situations that are real and that sometimes you don’t say them because of what they will say or what your partner will say. But, then, there are a lot of secrets, a lot of resentment, that if you don’t explore or communicate them, there comes a point where it’s not tolerable. If you have communication within a marriage, there is no way to get lost within the relationship, ”she adds.
Based on his character, Vélez opens up and shares his own personal experience. “I did have a very long relationship. I was engaged to him to get married, and the communication thing is true. I have been an actress since I can remember, and my partner at that time knew it. Since he did not belong to the medium, he did get into shock when I kissed a colleague from a work, movie or series; And yes, we did have such conflicts, but it was my job. In that case, things did drag on, because either you respect the person’s work and you understand that this is not an orgy, it’s a job, and there is a technical group, and when scenes that can become hot are made, they are choreographed . That is often difficult.”
Within the staging, Mackliff assumes the role of Tiffany, a rebellious young woman who generates income through the photos she posts on her Onlyfans account. “She earns her living like this, although it is an activity that her father is not proud of, does not support her, is ashamed of her. And she is proud; she fights for what she wants no matter what she thinks the rest. She is the girlfriend of Danilo (Caballero), who supports her to continue with her account, but they maintain a tense relationship, ”she indicates.
The singer also assures that she and her character have rebellion and the effort to get what they want in common. “For love, I would always be there for that person, one hundred percent. I don’t like to do things in half: either I give everything or nothing; I always like to give everything, and I would never put my happiness before that of the other ”, she emphasizes.
broken people will have a second performance tomorrow (Friday 12) at 8:30 p.m., at Casa Julián. The entrance fee is $2; redeemed at www.ticketshow.com.ec. The production is by Rompekbezas and is an initiative of the Mayor of Samborondón.
They are expected to have more functions on Thursday the 18th on the Samborondón boardwalk.
‘Network controversy’
Before the premiere of this work, written by José Rengifo, a digital space went viral with photos of the production that showed the cast with their torsos uncovered under headlines that, according to a statement by Vélez, misrepresented and damaged their image. “It was something so silly, because we were in the whole subject of photo sessions, recording promos; and a production partner of ours uploaded some stories, and one of them in particular was shown without audio”, says Vélez.
“I don’t know what is happening with the showbiz issue. Here they made a whole novel and they did not like it when I, in my networks, go out to defend myself for a title that was false, that is, ‘a triple X video is leaked’. From there, from the title, we already started badly. You are deceiving people, and the way of expressing yourself inside was worse, it did not help: “Video of Érika Vélez in the middle of a massacre is leaked, not with one, not with two, but with three.” We all have families, I also have a family, and I said: many are mothers and they have to understand that nobody likes them, and especially women, that we are so exposed, we are so vulnerable to any type of comment, that is expressed like that. of us being a lie. If it were true, what can I do? Let them say what they want, ”says the actress from Manabita about the controversy that arose. (YO)
