The pain and passion that consumed Medardo Angel Silva (1898-1919) it was embodied in letters in the course of his short life. This other part of the story is collected in the work medardo at home, written by David Castro Egas, under an idea of Carlos A. Ycaza and directed by Adrian Cardenas

The love affair between Silva and Carrión is illustrated in this proposal. “The work focuses on the relationship between the two of them and how they struggle in some way to be able to carry this love, to be able to materialize it and to be able to go together to have the life they want”explains Cardenas.

This theatrical piece was presented for the first time two years ago in a theater format read at the Teatro Centro de Arte, today it returns to the stage in a version performed by Paulsen study, a space that lends itself to achieving that sensation of immersion that the staging seeks; quite a challenge for its director.

“It is a great challenge to get the public in and make them feel part of this intimacy, which is what I want to achieve with the show… in fact, the public is very close to the actors, we use all the space to be able to simulate the rooms and at the editing level it has been interesting, but the challenge is more in achieving that depth that Medardo deserves, because his poems were like that, his poems were visceral, they were pure feelings ”, details the young director.

“The artistic is always going to be very guided towards chaos and chaos generally always starts from something very visceral,” he reflects. Sebastian Perdomo. The actor is in charge of impersonating the writer, a role that he considers an honor to do. “You are going to see a Medardo that travels through familiar stations…”says the actor.

“We have been very careful to refine the details of what the character represents and in one way or another, what perhaps people could never hear, of what he wanted to tell,” advance Perdomo.

The actor describes Medardo Ángel Silva as a genius who was trapped in his own sorrows, unable to reach his full potential.

They also act in the play Marta Ontaneda, Maria Ortega and Antonella Valeriano who play Mariana Rhodes (Mother of Medardo), the mateita (Grandma) and Angelita Carrion, respectively. “They (mother and grandmother) have many social complexes and they want the family to progress and to achieve that, Medardo must marry someone from a family that has resources…”, Cardenas review.
