This is what “Twin Peaks” would look like as a comedy in the style of “Friends”. Agent Cooper posted the video

The extraordinary David Lynch flirted with many film genres, and although he likes bizarre and dark atmospheres, comedy conventions are also not completely alien to him, the series he co-created can hardly be called a sitcom. However, if you’ve ever wondered what “Twin Peaks” would look like if it was made for broadcast on Comedy Central, you have a unique chance to experience it.

One of the actors shared the video

Serial Agent Cooper, or Kyle MacLahan, is one of David Lynch’s favorite actors (he also collaborated with him on the cult film “Blue Velvet”). It’s a mutual sympathy – the director’s work also has a special place in MacLahan’s heart. In social media, he often shares fan-made alterations, mostly referring to the universe of the most popular TV series town of the 1990s. One of them is the opening credits, modeled on the one known from “Friends” with the heroes of “Twin Peaks”.

Your life’s a joke; you’re broken. Your homecoming queen’s DOA

– the actor signed the film, modifying the text of The Rembrands hit “I’ll Be There For You”, which was used in the opening credits of “Friends”. He added that he found the video on Instagram through the fan account @kylemaclachlanlove_, but the video appeared on the web 5 years ago. They were posted on YouTube by user Matt Alexander.

The remake still has a Little Town vibe to it

At first glance, it may seem to the uninitiated that such an unusual intro to “Twin Peaks” heralds a cheerful series about a bunch of friends. The author, however, wove a mad Bob, the dead body of Laura Palmer or the hanged man Harold Smith into the scenes used, leaving no illusions that this is still Lynch’s work. According to some, the original also has a slightly disturbing atmosphere.

If you think about it, the opening of Friends is a little weird already, as if it’s nothing like dancing in a fountain in the middle of the night and feeding bread to rubber ducks, then sitting on a random sofa that’s outside for some reason and turning off the lamp. It’s very Lynchian.

one commenter noted. The remake has garnered nearly 100,000 likes. views.
