How to create a sustainable closet

  1. Go through the closet and throw away unused clothes
When all the clothes are stored in the closet or in drawers, it is common to forget what we have. We could find clothes that we have never worn or that do not reflect our style and that can be donated or sold, while the clothes that we do wear can stay and be ordered.
  2. Buy basic clothes
To create innovative and unique looks it is not necessary to wear different clothes all the time. The basic garments can be combined so that it does not appear that we are wearing the same outfit, so it is an investment for our pockets and the environment. Jeans, jackets and t-shirts in one color are the basis for many combinations.
  3. Prefer local consumption
Empowering the national textile industry with local fashion consumption is a way of helping the environment and the community. There are Ecuadorian designers and brands that adjust their fabrics, collections, and prices to the national public, also creating jobs and supporting the local economy.
  4. Choose quality and durable clothing
The ‘fast fashion’ is characterized by its disposable pieces, which end up being a great source of contamination since when the next trend comes, those garments are discarded. For this reason, it is better to choose quality clothing that can last several seasons and whose use is not marked by fashion but by personal style.
