Know the optimal characteristics of the vans

The acquisition of a family car usually implies the vision and opinion of its members, since from that decision they will have a vehicle that everyone will enjoy. From this, factors such as price, accessories and equipment, type of financing, security and comfort are taken into account.

For Daniela Montenegro, Toyota vehicle product manager in Casabaca, the choice of vehicle size and power will depend on the needs of the family and the number of members. “Another important point is the budget allocated to cover this need and advise them towards the most appropriate option,” adds Montenegro.

On the other hand, safety is a key point, if there are small children in the family, it is necessary to verify that the car has safety seats and special locks on all doors. Central locking and anti-lock brakes are important, as this will guarantee peace of mind for the family.

María José Vásconez, from Ambacar’s marketing area, recommends taking into account safety and comfort as the main aspects for this segment before purchasing; “However, it’s good to always look at the equipment, its warranty and the quality of the vehicle,” she suggests.

Differences with a common vehicle

A family vehicle, unlike a sedan or any other type, is a mobility alternative that presents greater space, comfort, power and safety, providing a satisfactory and pleasant experience to all users. “It is thought of factors of balance and coexistence between several people,” says Montenegro.

Meanwhile, José Miguel Arcos, head of marketing for Mercedes-Benz Automobiles and Vans, explains that today almost all the vehicles available on the market can be considered family cars. “Unlike what was common in this country a few years ago, today the predominant offer is 4 or 5 doors,” Arcos details.

In this sense, SUVs are gaining more and more ground over other segments. This clearly indicates that the market is thinking more and more about having the capacity to transport the whole family.

For large families

For the Mercedes-Benz expert, an SUV with two or even three rows of seats is an ideal vehicle for families of up to seven people, since it allows great versatility in terms of selected destinations, as well as comfort. In exceptional cases, a van becomes an interesting option, especially when it comes to particularly large families.

In the market there are different options of family vehicles, for example, the Ambacar portfolio has MPVs or 7 or 8 passenger minivans that have 3 rows of seats and are ideal for large families.
