Christmas dinner is delicious, whether you eat turkey or baked pork, not everyone likes to repeat the same dish the days after the celebration.
It may be that there are families where there is not even enough for the next day’s heating, but others may be left with an excess of prepared food. For this reason, here we propose three ideas to take advantage of the remains of the turkey and eat them in another way.
turkey sandwiches
Ingredients
- baked turkey meat
- 1 red onion
- 1 lemon
- 2 Creole lettuce leaves
- 6 rolled breads
Preparation
Cut the red onion into thin slices, add salt and lemon. To get the strong flavor you can put the onion in a bain-marie for about 5 minutes and it will turn pink. Add a splash of oil.
In a similar way to a typical pork sandwich, we assemble the sandwich by piling finely cut lettuce on the bread, the turkey slices, red onion and accompany with the turkey juice to soak the sandwich. If you like tomato, you can add a few slices to the lettuce base.
