Marie Antoinette jewelry and Kobe Bryant shoes to be auctioned in Geneva

The Nike Air Zoom Huarache 2k4 will be auctioned by Sotheby’s, while the auction for the Marie Antoinette bracelet will be carried out by Christie’s.

The first shoe model believed to be worn by the late American NBA star Kobe Bryant or two bracelets that belonged to the French Queen Marie Antoinette are some of the main attractions of the luxury auction week that Geneva will host next week.

The shoes, a Nike Air Zoom Huarache 2k4, will be auctioned by Sotheby’s, which will also put up for sale jewels of the Russian nobility that were taken out of the country after the Revolution of 1917, while the auction of the Marie Antoinette bracelet will run to charge of Christie’s, as anticipated by the two firms.

The shoes of Bryant, who died in a helicopter crash last year, will go up for auction with a starting price of 20,000 Swiss francs (19,000 euros, $ 22,000).

The sports shoes were used by Bryant in the victory of his team, the Los Angeles Lakers, against his main rivals of the moment, the Clippers of the same Californian city, in the meeting that took place at the Staples Center on March 17, 2004, where the shooting guard scored 27 points.

The jewels that Christie’s will put on sale and that belonged to Marie Antoinette, guillotined in 1793, are a pair of diamond bracelets that the queen kept in a chest along with other precious belongings, to protect them during the French Revolution.

These jewels, intact according to the British auction house, will be put up for auction at prices above 2 million Swiss francs (1.9 million euros, 2.1 million dollars). (I)
