When asked about her profession, she says “I organize things” – she segregates clothes in wardrobes, helps to keep a calendar and manage finances. Bożena Kowalkowska has not completed any coaching or psychological training, and she bases her skills of working with people and regaining time for them on her own experience. As she says, she did it specifically to be able to work with her own methods. She is so effective that she works – successfully – individually, in workshops and has written three books on this subject. However, she herself admits that she missed many important moments in her life with her husband, daughter and mother before she began to develop and apply the time recovery rules.
“I could develop professionally and privately on many different levels. Go to voice emission courses, ceramics, or learn to ride a horse and travel a lot more, or at least allow myself less stress during the trip. But I didn’t do all of that because I was busy. Because I didn’t have time. And when I did, I was terribly tired. The moment I realized it, the arduous process of regaining time began “- writes Bożena in her first book.
Do you have the same as Bożena? It is very possible that yes, research shows that what people miss the most is silence and free time. When Bożena hears this, she confirms it, but adds that often, when people regain their time, they do not know what to use it for.
Although he mainly works on life priorities, he warns that they change over time. “It used to be important for me to work in such a way that I could pick up children from institutions at 15:00” and adds “this year I want to develop more”. It’s not about the time to write a novel that will compete for the Nobel Prize, but to be able to have time for wine with friends. “Time is a non-renewable resource” – Bożena concludes. “But it’s not about a big change – days are made of small moments. It’s not like I’m taking someone on a two-month vacation to Hawaii! I suggest that we figure out what we want our perfect day to look like and some change that can lead us to it – introduce us.
Bożena notes that people who prove their work are no longer treated with esteem, although it used to be a matter of pride. “Today, people who tell me that they have light in the fridge, have no time for anything and do not understand, I look with sympathy.” He points out that people who are lost at work, even when they find time – do not know what to spend it on, what gives them pleasure. Meanwhile, it is from pleasure that Kowalkowska recommends planning the week. If we do not enter them in the calendar – it will be easy for us to give them up, and they are the quintessence of life.
About whether and how to focus on long-distance goals, about dreams and their potential, about what constitutes the bulk of her work – she says in the podcast. If you want to know how to let go, about requirements, your own rhythm, owls and larks to digital detox, “screen time” and account statements – listen to the latest episode of KPW – Feminine Point of View, in which Aga Kozak interviews Bożena.
We can reveal as consolation that the time specialist is only human “my child will probably be the last one to leave school today”.
