Guayafest, the film exhibition that will pay tribute to Italian cinema, will take place from November 9 to 13

From Wednesday 9 to Sunday 13 NovemberGuayaquil will become the venue for the first edition of Guayafest, the film exhibition that was born in the Pearl of the Pacific with the intention of, year after year, celebrating the seventh art with international guests. This 2022 the chosen country is Italy.

“Talking about the history of cinema without mentioning Italy is impossible”, celebrates, with great pride and joy, Eliseo Mosconi, President of the Italian Chamber of Commerce of Ecuadorone of the institutions that supports the initiative, and who, in addition, remember that, long before Hollywood, your country was already the cradle of outstanding and unforgettable stories on the big screen. “Italy has its artistic lineage with directors like Vittorio de Sica, Roberto Rossellini, Federico Fellini and actresses and actors that everyone knows as Sofia Loren, Marcello Mastroianni, Claudia Cardinale…”.

All that glamor and talent will also have its ambassadors in Guayaquil with the arrival at Guayafest of the actress Ornella Muti (To Rome with love) Y the actor Franco Nero (Letter to Juliet, Camelot), who will be joined by the singer Antonella Bucci, music producer Mauro Malavasi (hit producer I live by law), among others representatives of the Italian artistic industry.

“We want to promote art and beauty here in Guayaquil and in general, in Ecuador”Mosconi continues. “In a period where there is a lot of talk about football and other things, it is important to also talk about culture and art. It will be very positive, above all, for young people to discover or understand what grandparents and parents sometimes remember and say about the cinema.”. comments Mosconi, because as part of the event the screening of ten unforgettable and classic films of Italian cinema is planned.

The initiative is promoted by Daniela Creamer (Ecuador) and Mauricio Carvajal (Colombia) and has the support of the Municipal Public Tourism Company of Guayaquilled by Gloria Gallardo, the Guayas Prefecture, the academy and the private company.

Among the themes that the exhibition will address there is also the impulse of cinematography from the legislature, taking as an example the case of the Italian Cinema Lawwhose mentor Claudio Bucci will come to town for share his experience in the company of Gonzalo Poncepresident of the Academy of Audiovisual and Cinematographic Arts of Ecuador, among other panelists.

Latin America will have its guests with the arrival of the Colombian actress Mabel Moreno (The queen of flow, coffee with the aroma of a woman) and the director and actor Luis Velasco (Where is Elisa?). Ecuador will be represented at this cultural festival with actress Shany Nadan (Bolivar) and the actor from Guayaquil Carlos Scavone.

A selection of Ecuadorian cinema is recorded for the days of the festival with the projection of UnseenYellow glasses, Road to freedom, Route of the moon and The bad night. The functions will be open to the public, including the outdoor cinema format.
