With the voice of Shawn Mendes, the musical and family adventure ‘Lilo, Lilo, Crocodile’ opens this Thursday the 27th in Ecuador

“Lilo’s language is music and it is something with which I feel very identified”says the singer Shawn Mendes24 years old, who lends his voice to the new Sony Pictures film Lilo, Lilo, Crocodile and that will be released in Ecuador this thursday october 27.

The history, adapted from the famous and best-selling children’s book by Bernard Wabercollects the adventures of a little crocodile timidly hiding his great singing talent and that, in the wrong hands, it can become harmful to itself. However, fate will have him find kind allies in the Primm familywho come to live in your home.

In the midst of all the Halloween horror movie offerings, Lilo could also be considered another monster (after all, it’s not normal to have a crocodile in a residence or taking a taxi around the city).but it will only be until he dares to watch it with the children of the other protagonist, little Josh Primm (Winslow Fegley)who can see beyond Lilo’s appearance to discover her new stalwart friend.

I loved it because they showed the many facets of art. The artist who can sing in front of the mirror, the one who can sing in front of the family and already what it means for the artist to have to sing in front of an audience, that that is something else ”, reflects the Ecuadorian artist and filmmaker Líder Medranda. “But I think the subtext of the tape is also that, when we are children, we have the best listening to our spirituality in life and it is complemented by this message that we do not leave that childish lookdespite the fact that we are physically adults, that we continue to take risks and get out of the routine ”.

Lilo, Lilo, Crocodile was Directed by Will Speck and Josh Gordon with a screenplay by Will Davies. Among the other actors who add to the story are Javier Bardem and Constance Wuwho is, like Mendes, they performed the original songs, written by the same songwriting team behind The Greatest Showman.

“It also seems right to me that they have chosen Shawn Mendes because he is definitely in the prime of his career”, adds Medranda. “Since what happened with Miss (2019) to the voice that he has right now in Lilo, Lilo, Crocodile… There is a huge difference! He has much more muscles in his throat and it shows, he has nothing to envy to any of the greats and the songs invite you to live the message of the film”.
