British musicians then fell on American television at least once more, but they certainly did not cause as much outrage as Madonna. The artist was criticized by John Paul II, who, after the premiere of the “Like a Prayer” clip, personally encouraged the boycott of the singer in Italy.

This was just the beginning of her adventures with music video censorship and disgruntled MTV decision makers. There were more cases of censored or banned music videos and we talk about the most interesting of them in today’s episode of “POPKultury”:

What’s worth watching this week? Thrill-seekers should head to the cinemas to see “Terrifier 2: The Christmas Massacre.” Why? Because the first part of this production gained fame thanks to reports that the viewers fainted from the impression during the screenings and it was necessary to call ambulances. Those cinema fans who don’t like horror movies will be able to choose a screening of Whitney Houston’s biographical film “I Wanna Dance with Someone”. Both films in the repertoire from December 23.

The most interesting releases of the week

December is a good month for fans. Not only has a free update for “Wild Hunt” recently appeared, but also on December 25 you will be able to see the miniseries “The Witcher: Bloodline”. Its action takes place over 1000 years before the events we know from the famous saga by Andrzej Sapkowski. Here, the creators decided to explain under what circumstances the first witcher appeared on the scene, what’s going on with the “conjunction of spheres”, about which the characters of the series (still) talk so much, and what the monoliths are about. The cast of the series includes known from ” Mirren Mack or the legendary Michelle Yeoh. In addition, Minnie Driver and Joey Batey, i.e. the series Dandelion, appeared in guest roles (scenes with his participation are especially recommended).

A very important thing is the premiere of the film “Glass Onion” – the second film in the series. On December 23, we meet again detective Benoit Blanc, played brilliantly by Daniel Craig – he has a wonderfully stupid accent and a perfectly stylish wardrobe. This time he goes to the private island of an eccentric billionaire to solve the mystery of a mysterious death. The cast also includes stars such as Edward Norton, Janelle Monáe, Kathryn Hahn, Leslie Odom Jr., Jessica Henwick, Madelyn Cline, Kate Hudson and Dave Bautista. It’s hard to believe, but this part is probably even better than the previous one.

On Netflix, viewers who want to spend time with children can find the musical “Matilda”. “A bright girl with a rich imagination takes courageous steps to change her fate – with miraculous results. Meet Matylda” – the distributor encourages the screening.

On December 28, the black comedy Fri will appear on the same platform. “Night at Kindergarten”. Here, the main character sabotages a nativity scene rehearsal to prevent a group of parents and teachers from kicking his girlfriend’s son out of kindergarten. This is important, because this trial takes a dangerous turn and turns into a trial for an unruly 5-year-old. “Initially driven by selfish motives, the man during the trial begins to mature into the role of a father” – we read in the description. Rafał Skalski is responsible for directing, the main roles were played by: Piotr Witkowski, Lena Góra, Zbigniew Zamachowski and Sylwia Boroń.

Christmas movies online and more

Those who will not make it to the Christmas Eve screening on Polsat (at 8 p.m.), let them console themselves that the production is also available on the platform. There you can also watch, for example, the movie “Guardians of the Galaxy: Getting Closer to Christmas” or the entire series of “Die Hard”.

This week, in turn, the famous film “Morbius” will be shown. In it, Oscar-winner Jared Leto played the role of the mysterious anti-hero Michael Morbius. After gaining superhuman abilities, he must face his new and terrifying nature. Premieres December 25 on HBO.

Player.pl, in turn, proposes the film “English Job”, which will appear on the platform on December 23. The script is inspired by real events. “In September 1971, thieves tunneled into the vaults of a London bank on Baker Street and stole multi-million pounds worth of cash and jewellery. The lost valuables and money were never recovered and the thieves were never caught. The audacious theft made headlines for several days, and then the topic suddenly disappeared as a result of the government’s decision to restrict the freedom of expression of the press This film not only shows what was hidden in the safes, but above all reveals the behind-the-scenes murder, corruption and sex scandal linked to the theft, which leads to It turns out that compared to the other participants in the scandalous scandal, the thieves who emptied the bank safes were innocent angels, “we read in the summary.

On the same platform we find “Movie 43”. Here in the cast appeared such stars as: Kate Winslet, Hugh Jackman, Halle Berry, Naomi Watts, Richard Gere, Elizabeth Banks, Gerard Butler, Emma Stone, Kevin Spacey, Uma Thurman, Terrence Howard. “They show their true colors without trying to hold back their absurd, ridiculous, controversial, border-crossing humor. This is not a film for the politically correct, taking every on-screen slur to heart. ‘Movie 43’ offers a shockingly inappropriate, taboo-breaking film.” but at the same time impossibly funny short film stories from heaven and hell that change the perception of cinema. You have to see it to believe that it really was made.
