Mirella Cesa is named UNICEF national ambassador

The composer and singer from Guayaquil Mirella Cesawho has collaborated in campaigns of the United Nations Children’s Fund (Unicef) For several years, she was appointed UNICEF National Ambassador in Ecuador, within the framework of the #FirstChildren event for the 76th anniversary of the UN entity.

Cesa, winner of the Silver Gaviota in Viña del Mar, pledged to support Unicef’s efforts to put children first. As part of this initiative, the artist recorded a jingle with Karla Kanora, Daniel Betancourth and Yilda Banchon to invite all of society to join this cause and take action for children.

“Our ambassadors are chosen not only because they are widely recognized, but also because they are respected and because of their humanitarian interest. It fills us with emotion to have Mirella Cesa, as UNICEF National Ambassador, who has demonstrated her commitment to children and has put her voice, her artistic talent and her sensitivity at the service of children and adolescents in the country,” she said. The Ecuadorian artist also will promote early childhood development, breastfeeding and positive parenting practices. It will also participate in advocacy activities and campaigns, behavior change and fundraising for Unicef, in favor of the rights of children and adolescents.

They have my hands, my feet, my voice, my music, for whatever the boys and girls in Ecuador need. The designation was made during a special event organized within the framework of the 76 years of UNICEF and the 33 years of the Convention on the Rights of the Child. On this evening, Unicef ​​presented the initiative #PrimeroLaInfancia and recognized the work of institutions and personalities who, together with Unicef, have marked important milestones in favor of children.
