The Puerto Rican Reggaeton Bad Bunny will be El Muerto, a character derived from the Spider-Man series, in the film of the same name produced by Sony for Marvel and directed by the Mexican Jonás Cuarón, to be released on January 12, 2024.
There are no more tickets for the Bad Bunny concert in Ecuador
Marvel explains that, like other superheroes, The mask of El Muerto has been passed down from generation to generation. It is about a wrestling competitor who tries to maintain his identity and his powers. Juan Carlos Estrada was a worthless young man who refused to face the antagonist El Dorado, while his father, Marcus Estrada, took his place and died.
El Dorado decided to give Juan Carlos ten years to mature enough to face a duel with him. After that time, El Muerto arrives in New York and approaches J. Jonah Jameson to organize a fight event, in which his goal is to defeat Spider-Man and unmask him.. Jameson agrees, and El Muerto is so close to winning that Spider-Man panics, injecting him with venom and paralyzing him.
A remorseful Spider-Man rescues El Muerto from the hospital before El Dorado can seize the opportunity to kill him. Thus they become allies against a common enemy.
This will be the first live-action Marvel movie with a Latino character in the leading role, a story with tones similar to those of Spider-Man because it is about a young man without much heroism at first, who loses his father figure and goes through a growth journey before being able to take on his mission.
Sony Pictures will release The dead in theaters January 12, 2024. It will be Bad Bunny’s chance to become a Marvel star, and Sony’s chance to further expand her work in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with Kraven the Hunter (2023, starring Aaron Taylor-Johnson) and Madame Web (2024, with Dakota Johnson and Sydney Sweeney).
