Action on the movie set Rust will resume with Alec Baldwin in the lead rolealong with all the actors originally called up, after reaching an agreement that implies that Halyna Hutchins’ widowerthe cinematographer who was accidentally shot by Baldwin during a rehearsal, will serve as the new executive producer.
Matthew Hutchins has agreed to drop the wrongful death lawsuitseveral US media announced this Wednesday, including the portal TMZ.
Hutchins announced that will drop his lawsuit against Alec Baldwin and the production of Rustsaying that they have reached certain terms that will allow the film to come to fruition.
“We have reached a settlement, subject to court approval, for our wrongful death case against the producers of Rust, including Alec Baldwin and Rust Movie Productions, LLC. As part of this, the case is dismissed,” Hutchins said.

Furthermore, he added that the filming of Rustin which he will also act as a producer, will resume with the entire main cast in January 2023. “I have no interest in getting involved in recriminations or attribution of blame. We all believe that Halyna’s death was a terrible accident.. I am grateful that the producers and the entertainment community have come together to pay tribute to Halyna’s final work.”
