british actor henry cavill has announced that it will not continue as the Superman in the DCU. “I will not return as Superman”, has stated.
Through a publication on his Instagram account, the actor has reported the “sad news” after having a meeting with the heads of the study, James Gunn and Peter Safran, who told him that they are working on a new movie with a younger Superman.
“The changing of the guard is something that happens and I respect that,” Cavill wrote, noting that “James and Peter have a universe to build“. He has added that he wishes both them and the people involved in the “new universe” the best “of luck and the happiest of fortunes.”
The interpreter has expressed that the moment “to wear the cape is over, but what Superman stands for will never come to pass. It’s been a fun ride with you guys, onward and upward.”
Cavill had once again played the iconic DC character in the latest release related to this fictional universe, ‘Black Adam’, starring Dwayne Johnson. The Briton also recently confirmed that he would not return as Geralt of Rivia for the fourth season of the series ‘The Witcher’, from Netflix.
