The film features interviews with Holt, Cher and her sister Georganne LaPiere, and Cher’s sons Chaz Bono and Elijah Blue Allman. The initiator of the idea was the artist herself, who decided that she wanted to show her mother as an independent artist.

Georgia Holt was born in 1926 in Kensett, Arkansas as Jackie Jean Crouch. When she was young, her father taught her to sing and play the guitar. As a little girl, she won many talent and beauty contests. She started her acting career in her youth. She played, among others in the series “I Love Lucy” or “The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet”, as well as in films such as “A Life of Her Own” and “Grounds for Marriage”.

In the 1980s, she recorded a country album entitled “Honky Tonk Woman”, but the recordings have been lost. They only found each other in 2013, and that was the sign for Cher to decide to create a film that would tell more about Georgia Holt. The album was released in the same year and includes, among others, a duet with her daughter, i.e. “I’m Just Your Yesterday”.
